Tetrapyrgos nigripes |
This tiny mushroom grows from rotting sticks and leaves and is abundant during wet summer weather. Often confused with Marasmiellus candidus which usually has a larger cap. Spore shape is the key to separating the two. |
Spores of Tetrapyrgos nigripes are triangular. (Spores of Marasmiellus candidus are lacrymoid, or tear-shaped.) |
